A great story about changing times and how a person would feel on returning to his home, or shall I say the place he left, after a while, how the changes there impacted him and how the old habits of love and longing don't die. Filled with lot of military jargon but lesser social details other than like a skim book, on the universe that William Mandella visits after 'jumping' through time at the end of each of his war. Absolutely loved the story and the facets of the war and life of a soldier the author had given importance to. I did not like the indirect or convoluted story telling at times, especially during the preparation of the last war. The author then seems to convey that the old methods don't grow out, by the usage of non-tech fighting weapons at the end. The last ending was a bit …
