The Last Day is a great read. The story is well written and the concept is very original. It was great to read a science fiction apocalyptic story that had a decent foundation. I loved the mystery of the book and time after time I was persuaded to read just one more chapter. I must say that I was a little disappointed with the ending of the book. Although it fit the story well, I experienced it as a bit of an anticlimax and found that the characters had little to do with the outcome of the story.

Amazing comic! I couldn’t recommend this book strong enough. It’s an enticing tale with realistic emotion, all your favourite characters, a great story arc, and some of the best drawings in the business. Not a comic to read before going to sleep. You won’t want to put it down!

After translating some of these stories in secondary school, it's great to dive back into the myths without any of the pressure and with all of the joy. And the way that Stephen Fry writes the stories, there is lots to enjoy! He manages to tell the stories, guiding the reader through its context and the smaller details, without boring the reader for a moment. That is quite the achievement when I compare it to my youthful experience.

Een goed boek met een geweldig sentiment. De auteur heeft uitbundig onderzoek gedaan en neemt de lezer aan de hand door diepe discussies over het menselijke bestaan. Ik was onder de indruk van de nauwkeurige bronvermelding. Soms voelt het echter alsof het boek als schoolboek bedoeld is en wordt er niet alleen terugverwezen, maar ook een hoop herhaald. Hierdoor voelen sommige hoofdstukken wat langdradig en duurt het voor mijn gevoel soms wat lang voor de auteur bij de kern van het hoofdstuk aankomt. Al met al is het toch zeker het lezen waard!

A very satisfying end to the trilogy

Great setup and wonderful characters, but the ending leaves a few too many open questions
