The Wizard's Butler (Paperback, 2020, Durandus Ltd., YUNY) 5 stars

For five grand a month and a million dollar chaser, Roger Mulligan didn't care how …

Delightful

This story by @nlowell@zirk.us is simply delightful. I haven't finished a book so quickly in ages, and stayed up past my bedtime to get to the end. I found the story and pacing much like Roger finds his butler duties: satisfying and relaxing, like enjoying a hot cup of fresh coffee in the morning. The ending feels just right. Adding this book to my "cozy go-tos" list and I look forward to enjoying the story again and again. Additionally, Tom Taylorson does a fantastic job of performing the story, distinguishing the character voices expertly, and matching the pacing of the story itself.

I didn't want to like this...

...but I got more out of it than I expected. Author is a white, hetero, Christian Stay-at-Home Mom and I fully expected to DNF this book because I wouldn't find any thing relevant. But, I finished my library checkout and I plan to buy the ebook. No it isn't all useful for me, and it does get a little preachy towards the end. But I found that a lot of it resonated with me. I'm already implementing a meal matrix and I'm taking her tips on ways to rest to heart. "You don't know how to rest" is the line that really hit home for me.
