sweet, beautiful, simple and short. this story came to me on the heels of a hard year, which itself was following a couple more hard years. sibling dex and mosscap were precisely the guides i needed to recenter at the end of this year and think about how to bring a little bit of tea monk energy into the next chapters of my life. i'll be rereading this one.

one of the first collections i read after coming out, and a constant favorite to return to. messy, heartfelt, beautiful.

this collection broke me, in a beautiful way. Megan Milks writes with reverence and horror about the way unconscious desires take form, transmutate, transgress and twist. not every story is a winner, but even the ones that missed for me struck me with their immediacy, their presence of voice and life. trans literary fiction, with all raunchy violent tenderness of contemporary life. check this one out.

This book will be on my writing desk for a very long time, just in case I need to borrow some of Natalie Goldberg's wisdom.
