It's rare that I read the book the talks about a serious, real-life subject and makes me laugh, awed, inspired and curious. All this while giving me serious food for thought.

I'd say it's a must read in these Covid dominated times.

This book doesn't work for me.

It's wonderfully illustrated, and the advice is quite good.

On the other hand, the "actual actions to take" are scattered in the content of each chapter. And I'm missing some sort of framework that integrates the 10 ways into a cohesive mental model of showing my work.

As a person that's looking to switch towards the management track I found this book full with invaluable perspectives of what makes an effective manager, but also with down to earth advice that can lead to this effectiveness

Having started my journey towards a barefoot marathon, this book changed the way I think about running: if it feels like work, I'm working too hard.

Overall a pleasant read it felt a bit too long at various points in the story.

What I really missed was a summary of all the resources and names that were scattered around the book

My first book on difficult conversations. So, it blew my mind

Are you a simple team member or an executive leader and you feel some pain in your organization? This book will give you a direction towards finding a solution for it.

The solution will come from a blend of the "5 dysfunctions of a team", "crucial conversations", "nonviolent communication" and agile applied to the IT context. The text is concise and clear, with plenty of real-world examples. The references at the end are plentiful.

This book just became my reference "how to work with people and have a great workplace" and I'll be re-reading it often
