I only realised just how powerful visual framing can be in 2011 when I first drew the Doughnut and was taken aback by the international response to it.

We're at the beginning of the book, we've barely seen her donut, and we get this "I had no idea everyone would love this so much!" passage, à la Taylor Swift. It goes on for some time. She's just told us how important framing is for people to buy your ideas, and she immediately uses it on us. She may prove completely right, but it's an impressive show of chutzpah.
